FingerSpan is a small, focused map utility for measuring freehand lines. Trace a route on the map with one finger and see its length instantly. It is not a navigation app, route planner, or workout tracker.

No. FingerSpan has no account and no cloud sync. A measurement stays only in the app while you're working on it. With FingerSpan Premium, measurements you explicitly save are stored locally on your device until you delete them.

Magnet matches your freehand line to nearby roads and footpaths. It first asks Apple Maps for a match, and falls back to a routing service if no suitable path is found nearby. Your original line is kept untouched if no good match exists.

Premium unlocks a personal history of saved measurements: name a route and reopen it anytime, right on the map. It's a one-time purchase through the App Store, not a subscription.

FingerSpan requests permission only after you tap the location button. Once granted, Apple MapKit may use your location while the map is visible to show your position. Tracking follows your position, and compass mode also follows your direction. FingerSpan does not store your location or use it in the background. The selected map provider receives the visible map area in order to load it.

FingerSpan is built for iPhone and available in English and German. The language follows your device's language settings automatically.

Individual saved measurements can be deleted at any time within the app. To remove all data completely, simply uninstall the app.

Zunächst wird Apple Maps nach einer Übereinstimmung gefragt; wird in der Nähe kein passender Weg gefunden, kommt ein Routing-Dienst als Fallback zum Einsatz. Wird keine gute Übereinstimmung gefunden, bleibt deine ursprüngliche Linie unverändert erhalten.

Premium schaltet einen persönlichen Verlauf gespeicherter Messungen frei: Strecke benennen und jederzeit wieder direkt auf der Karte öffnen. Es ist ein einmaliger Kauf über den App Store, kein Abo.

FingerSpan fragt die Berechtigung nur an, nachdem du den Standort-Button angetippt hast. Nach der Freigabe kann Apple MapKit deinen Standort verwenden, solange die Karte sichtbar ist, um deine Position anzuzeigen. Die Standortverfolgung folgt deiner Position, der Kompassmodus zusätzlich deiner Blickrichtung. FingerSpan speichert deinen Standort nicht und verwendet ihn nie im Hintergrund. Der gewählte Kartenanbieter erhält den sichtbaren Kartenausschnitt, um ihn laden zu können.

FingerSpan ist für iPhone entwickelt und in Deutsch und Englisch verfügbar. Die Sprache richtet sich automatisch nach den Spracheinstellungen des Geräts.

Einzelne gespeicherte Messungen lassen sich jederzeit in der App löschen. Für die vollständige Löschung aller Daten genügt die Deinstallation der App.
